Your computer needs to be on
Wabo runs on your computer. While it's off, asleep or offline, it can't reply. The app keeps the computer awake and runs from the tray when you close the window.
It's an unofficial WhatsApp connection
Wabo links like WhatsApp Web (a linked device), not through the official Business API. WhatsApp's terms restrict automated messaging, and a number could be limited. Wabo only answers people who write to you, at human pace, with no bulk sending — but no tool can guarantee it.
It tells customers it's an AI
In its first reply the assistant introduces itself as an AI assistant, as required by laws such as the EU AI Act.

Do I need a server or a developer?
No. Wabo is a desktop app. Install it, scan the QR code with your phone, add your products — that's it.
Which AI does it use, and what does it cost?
Google Gemini, with your own API key from Google AI Studio. Many small shops stay within the free tier; paid usage is typically a few dollars per thousand replies, billed by Google directly to you. The app shows your usage and estimated cost.
Can I keep using WhatsApp on my phone?
Yes. The computer becomes one of your linked devices. When you reply from your phone, the assistant goes quiet in that conversation for a few hours.
Does it work with WhatsApp Business?
Yes — both the regular WhatsApp app and WhatsApp Business can be linked.
Which languages does it reply in?
It answers in your customer's language. The app itself is available in English, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Indonesian and Arabic.
