Why use the Excel template
Wabo's assistant only talks about products, prices and images that are in your catalog. The more complete the catalog, the fewer questions end up with you. If you already keep a product list in a spreadsheet, the Excel import is the fastest way to bring it over, and it is also the easiest way to change many prices at once later.
Everything happens in the Products / Catalog screen, in the card called Add / update products in bulk with Excel.
Step by step
- Download the template. Click Download Excel template and choose where to save it. The file has a products sheet and a help sheet that explains each column. Products you already added in the app are pre-filled.
- Add new products. Write each new product on an empty row and leave the No column empty. An empty No means "this is a new product".
- Update existing products. Rows that came pre-filled have a number in No. Change any other cell on those rows and the product is updated on import. Do not change or copy the number itself.
- Add image file names. In the image files column, write the file name of each product photo, for example sneaker-white.jpg; sneaker-side.jpg. Put the images in the same folder as the Excel file, or write the full path.
- Import the file. Save as .xlsx or .csv and click Import from Excel. A summary shows Added, Updated, Image and Skipped counts, with a short note for any row that had a problem.
The columns
In version 0.2.2 the template's column headers are written in Turkish, whatever language the app uses. Keep the headers as they are; Wabo matches columns by name, so their order does not matter.
| Header in the file | Meaning | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| No | Product number | Empty for new products. Filled rows update that product. |
| Kategori | Category | Product group, e.g. Sneakers. The assistant uses these groups when it explains your range. |
| Ürün adı | Product name | Required. Rows without a name are skipped. |
| Fiyat | Price | Use it when there is a single price, e.g. 49 USD. |
| Seçenekler ve fiyatları | Options and prices | Sizes, colors, capacity and their prices, e.g. "Sizes 38–44: 59 USD". |
| Açıklama | Description | Material, contents, warranty, how to use. |
| Görsel tarifi | Image description | Helps the assistant match a photo a customer sends, e.g. "white, laced, thick sole". |
| Stok | Stock | Var (in stock) or Tükendi (out of stock). Empty means in stock. |
| Görsel dosyaları | Image files | Optional. File names or full paths, separated by ";". |
Tips that save time
- Change prices in bulk. Download the template, edit the price column, import. Only the rows you changed matter; the others are updated with the same values.
- CSV works too. Comma and semicolon separated files are both recognised. Old .xls files are not; save them as .xlsx first.
- Write options the way customers ask. "Single 25 USD, Double 35 USD" is easier for the assistant to quote than a code.
Bulk image upload
If you have more photos than product data, for example a folder of designs or colors, use the Bulk upload product images card instead. Type a category, click Choose images and select the photos. Each image becomes a separate product, named after its file name. If the category already has a product, its price, options and description are copied to the new ones, so you only fix what differs.
After uploading, the category card offers Fill in missing image descriptions with AI. This writes a short image description for each product, which helps when customers send a photo and ask "do you have this?"
Price list image
Many shops already have a price list as a picture. Add it in the Price list image card with Choose image. When a customer asks for prices, the assistant sends this image. You can Change or Remove it at any time.
Once your products are in, train the assistant with your shipping, return and payment details and try a few questions in Test chat. Not installed yet? Download Wabo.
Frequently asked questions
Will deleting a row in Excel delete the product?
No. Rows you remove from the file are simply not touched. To delete a product, open it in Products / Catalog and use Edit, then Delete.
Can I import an old .xls file?
No. Open it in Excel and save it as an Excel Workbook (.xlsx), or export it as .csv, then import again.
Why were my images not added?
Images from the file are added only to products that have no images yet. Also check that the file name is spelled exactly, including the extension, and that the image sits in the same folder as the Excel file or that you wrote its full path.
Can I export my catalog?
Yes. The downloaded template always contains your current products, so it also works as a quick export of the catalog.
