The same questions, all day long
Home textile and decor shops sell products that look simple but come with many details. A bedding set comes in single, double and king. A curtain has widths and drops. A throw pillow has four colors and two fabrics. Customers want to know exactly what is in the set, whether the fitted sheet fits a 30 cm mattress, and how long delivery takes. They ask on WhatsApp, often late in the evening after browsing your Instagram, and they expect an answer before they lose interest.
A WhatsApp AI assistant for a home textile store takes that repetitive first layer off your hands. Wabo knows your catalog, answers from it in your customer's language, sends the right photos and can take the order, all from an app on your own Mac or PC.
How Wabo helps a home goods shop
- Options and prices. Products can have options such as single/double/king or 140×260 cm, each with its own price. The assistant answers with the price of the size the customer actually needs.
- Price list image. Many shops have a single price list graphic. Add it to the catalog and the assistant can send it when someone asks "what are your prices?".
- Photos from your catalog. It sends product images, and when a customer sends a photo of a set they saw somewhere, it looks for the matching product in your catalog.
- Answers from your documents. Upload a brochure, care instructions or delivery policy as PDF, Word, Excel or PowerPoint. The text is extracted on your computer and the relevant part is used to answer.
- Orders. In order mode it collects product, option, quantity, name, phone, address and payment method, confirms a summary and saves the order. You get a WhatsApp notification and can export orders to Excel.
Hi, does the Olive Stripe bedding come in double? What's in the set?
Hi! I'm Willow & Linen's AI assistant. Yes, the Olive Stripe set comes in double for $64. It includes a duvet cover, a fitted sheet and two pillowcases. Here's a photo.
and single?
The single is $48, with one pillowcase instead of two. Would you like the single or the double?
double, 2 sets please
Lovely. 2 × Olive Stripe, double = $128. Could I have your name, phone number and delivery address?
Setting it up for home textiles and decor
Bring your catalog in from Excel
Home goods catalogs are big, so the fastest route is usually the spreadsheet you already have. Download the template from the catalog screen, put one row per product and its options, then import it. You can run the same import later to update prices. Our guide on importing a catalog from Excel shows the columns. Then add photos, either per product or in bulk (each image becomes a product), and mark items as sold out when needed.
Write down how you work
In training, describe your shop: delivery areas and times, whether you sew custom curtains, return conditions for opened packaging, payment options. Add the questions you hear every day as FAQ or rule entries, for example "Always ask the mattress depth before recommending a fitted sheet". Choose a tone; friendly and clear tends to suit home goods. See how to train your assistant.
Try it in the test chat
Before linking WhatsApp, ask your assistant tricky questions in the test chat: a size you do not carry, a discount you do not offer, a custom order. Adjust the rules until the answers sound like you. If you have not installed Wabo yet, start with installation and first launch.
Handover or order mode?
Some home goods sales are simple: a set, a size, an address. Order mode handles those end to end. Others involve custom measurements or a visit. For those, handover mode works better: Wabo answers the first questions, sends the photos and prices, then leaves the chat to you. Whenever the assistant is unsure, it hands over instead of guessing. And if you reply from your phone, it stays quiet in that chat for a few hours.
Honest limits
Wabo does not send campaigns or bulk messages; it replies to customers who write to you. It can send a short, limited follow-up to a customer who went quiet, never at night, and stops if the customer says "stop". Your data, including conversations, customers and orders, stays in a local database on your computer. The text and images needed for each answer are sent to Google Gemini through your own key. If you are comparing this with hosted chatbot services, read Wabo vs cloud chatbots.
Pricing
One license costs $199, one time, for one WhatsApp number. It includes 12 months of updates and a 7-day money-back guarantee, and your version keeps working after that. Gemini usage is billed by Google to your own key; the free tier is enough to start. You can set up the whole catalog and test everything before buying. See pricing or download the free trial.
Frequently asked questions
My products come in many sizes. Can the catalog handle that?
Yes. Each product can have several options, such as single, double or king size, or curtain widths, each with its own price. The assistant quotes the price of the option the customer asks about.
Can it send my price list as an image?
Yes. You can add a price list image to the catalog, and the assistant can send it when a customer asks for prices in general.
I have hundreds of products in a spreadsheet. Do I have to enter them one by one?
No. Download the Excel/CSV template from the catalog screen, fill it in with your products and options, and import it. The same import can update existing products later.
Does it work with a normal WhatsApp account or only WhatsApp Business?
Both. Wabo links as a linked device, like WhatsApp Web, to either the regular WhatsApp app or WhatsApp Business. You keep using your phone as usual.
